Early check in Policy
Early Arrivals before 8:00 hr will be charged 1 night’s room rate. Arrivals between 8:00 hrs and 14:00 hrs will be liable for a charge of 50% of the total room rate.
Late Check Out
ID Requirement
Valid forms of ID include:
Foreigners: Passport only
Indians: Passport or Election card
Nepalese: Passport, Driver’s license, Citizenship card (Nagrikta) or National ID card.
Child Policy
5-11 years: 50% off on meal, sharing existing bed.
12 years and above: Full charge as an adult.
Extra bed available upon request with an additional charge.
Pet Policy
Payment Policy
Hotel Shambala accepts payment from our guests which is payable during guest check-in. The hotel shall retain any additional amount apart from the room rent for incidental charges to avoid any inconvenience during the stay period. The following forms of payments are acceptable:
Cash: Nepalese currency (foreign currency exchange facility available)
Credit cards: VISA, AMERICAN EXPRESS, AMEX, MASTER, JCB, UNION PAY (Maestro is not accepted in Nepal). Physical presence of the card is necessary during payment.
Mobile payments: E-sewa, Fonepay
Bank transfer: Please contact the front office or accounts for banking information.
The Hotel does not accept Personal cheques.
Indian Currency of denominations of only 100 is accepted.
Visitor Policy
Smoking Policy
The Hotel has designated rooms where smoking is allowed. There are also a designated smoking area in the 3rd floor balcony accessible to all guests. Smoking is also allowed in the outdoor seating areas of the Erma Restaurant and the roof top bar.
All indoor public areas are non-smoking areas. Smoking in non-smoking rooms will incur a fine of $50.
Security
Guest Conduct
Hotel Shambala reserves the right of admission to entry to persons entering the hotel. The hotel will not accept any behavior which is or maybe considered abusive towards other guests, staff or visitors either verbally or physically.
Similarly, the hotel does not allow illegal activities including:
- the selling of consumption of illegal drugs or narcotics
- the possession of firearms or deadly weapons
- gambling within the hotel premises.
In the event of such an occurrence, Hotel Shambala reserves the right to remove the individual or individuals from the premises.

Fire Safety System Policy
The hotel is equipped with the smoke detectors throughout its premises in case of fire. The Hotel has fire hydrants and fire extinguishers placed on each and every floor. The fire exit doors are located at the end of each hallway which has been clearly marked. In case of fire/emergency, the hotels emergency evacuation system will be activated. Please remain calm. On the back of the room door is the map clearly indicated the nearest fire exit on each floor. Please DO NOT USE LIFT in case of Emergency.
Cancellation Policy
Lost & Found Policy
All lost and found items from within the hotel will be handed over to the relevant department and the details recorded. Based on the available contact information the hotel will attempt to contact the guest to return the lost item. The items are either returned or processed based on the instructions of the owner of the item. In the event of a non-contact with the owner, the item is kept in storage for 6 months after which the items will be disposed as per hotel policy.
Perishable products are disposed within 24 hours to prevent contamination.
